Coach Visit – RAF Museum, Hendon
On this 100th Anniversary of the RAF and the First World War we visited the RAF Museum at Hendon touring the six large hangers. How brave were those pilots in the early years of flight in their flimsy aircraft.
We were amazed at the sheer size of the Lancaster, sea planes and helicopters. Many planes were hanging from ceilings. The Museum is very modern and contains many interactive displays, simulators, weapons of war and uniforms from World War One to the present day. On a personal note I felt it would have been nice to see some ex RAF personnel volunteers around the site and more seating which I did mention in their questionnaire.
