About Us

Lord Heseltine's Gardens at Thenford are only open for a few days each year. They actually comprise several different gardens spread over a 70 acre arboretum which itself contains over 3000 different species of tree.  The individual gardens are varied in character ranging from two long herbaceous borders, a large walled garden and a water garden to medieval fish ponds and a sculpture garden, plus many other features.  There is a magnificent view over the surrounding countryside from the house.  Particularly popular was the walled garden and its glass house, but above all what captured the imagination of most of our members was the way the gardens blended into their surroundings.  It took a little while to get our bearings and with fairly long walks between features there just wasn’t enough time to see everything.  May we return next year please?
